The government is nuking community energy: don't let them get away with it.
In recent years, the UK has seen an explosion in the number of energy projects owned by local people. From windfarms in Scotland to solar panels on tower block roofs in Brixton, local people are standing up to the big private energy companies and doing things for themselves.
But George Osborne and his friends in the multinational energy companies are fighting back. Under the Tories, we've seen tax breaks halted, subsidies slashed, and red tape put in the way - all while the government continues to pump billions into to big coal, gas and nuclear.
These changes have left the community energy sector on its knees. Dozens of schemes have gone bust in the past year alone. Last week, Co-operative Party Parliamentary Chair Gavin Shuker MP wrote to George Osborne demanding he call off the attack.
But it's clear that we need to ramp up the pressure on Energy Minister Amber Rudd to stand up to him. Use this page to tweet, email and spread the word.Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Email your friends
