Towards a co-operative economy

  1. When a company is put up for sale, its staff should have the chance to buy and run it themselves.
  2. The government should encourage and support co-operative businesses that are owned by their customers.
  3. If a company is successful and makes a profit, then the owners should share some of the profit with their employees.
  4. Company boards should include representatives of everyone involved in the business - including its staff.
  5. More help should be available for people to set up employee and customer-owned businesses of their own.
